Project Objectives

The CEO approached me to write an ad campaign for his company’s premier office chair, the tCentric Hybrid. “I want headlines that talk up the chair’s adjustability and support features,” he said, “but with humour and even a little cynicism – if you can pull it off.” My gut feeling was that running brutally honest, funny poster ads inside TTC subway cars adjacent the exits would grab eyes and sell chairs. All helped by ergoCentric’s downtown showroom being minutes’ walk from the King subway station and the financial district.

Content delivered

I developed a series of headlines, of which the client selected the two shown, handling art direction in-house. Days after launch, he told me the Canadian Chiropractic Association CEO had written him protesting that one of the ads dissed chiropractors. This pleased my client greatly. More importantly, the campaign had significantly boosted tCentric sales and showroom traffic. He told me these were exactly the results he’d hoped for. I love making smart clients into happy clients.
